My sourdough journey wasn’t always easy. After several failed attempts, I almost gave up for good. But after losing my job in 2025, I decided to give it one more try and made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t quit this time. Once I started getting the hang of it, I quickly fell in love with sourdough and the joy of creating fresh-baked breads and treats to share with others. The name Rise & Sham combines the rise of sourdough starter with Sham, short for Shamiran, representing my baking journey and the growth that came from not giving up. I’ve always loved cooking for others and bringing people together around a table, so being able to share that love through my little bakery means so much to me. 🧡
